Life Has a Funny Way...

I’ve got news, and it ain’t good.

My department is being split up and integrated into other sections of the university. What does this mean? That I’ll lose all the people I enjoy working with, and will probably have to accept a changed job description at best, or be subtly forced into leaving at worst. They won’t be making anyone redundant, or so they claim, but I don’t doubt that they will offer people stupidly inappropriate jobs in order to push them to resign (no payout if you resign…)

I knew everything was going too well. I just knew it. We’d finally reached a position where we could start making inroads into paying off the debt, start relaxing a bit, etc etc… But now this.

I don’t know why I’m surprised. The universe, or fate, or whatever, likes to fuck us. More than anything, I’m angry with myself for believing that life might finally be getting onto a good track. How could I be so stupid? You'd think I'd know better by now...
